1. The 12th edition of Romanian Design Week, a project of The Institute, presented by Unicredit Bank, takes place this year between May 24 and June 2, in the historical monument building in George Enescu Square, which in the past housed the famous CINA restaurant (Str. Benjamin Franklin 10).

2. The theme of the Romanian Design Week 2024 festival: Unlock the City. 
The 2024 edition of Romanian Design Week aims to investigate the ways in which creativity and innovation can shape the cities of tomorrow and at the same time contribute to the exploration of Bucharest and the discovery of its potential and layers, creative spaces in the city and cultural organisations or projects. This edition invites the citizens of Bucharest to discover the creative specificity of some areas, original design projects and multidisciplinary approaches, but also to contribute to the definition of dialogue spaces.

3. This year the festival recorded a record number of registrations within the RDW Exhibiton. Over 150 local specialists, gathered in the RDW Community, validated 670 projects entered in the first stage of the selection process and subsequently, six teams of local and international curators determined who will be the participants of the RDW Exhibition 2024.

4. RDW Exhibition registered this year a number of 670 entries, projects that entered the selection process to be exhibited within the RDW Exhibition (Architecture – 61, Interior Design – 189, Graphic Design – 125, Illustration – 88, Fashion Design – 86, Product Design – 121).

5. Fashion designers at RDW Exhibition are: Alexandra Irinciuc, Ana Farîma, AXENTE, Bianca Petre, CARAVASILI, Claudia Ciotec, Cristina Alexandru, Daniel Radu, ELLIDA TOMA, FORAEVA by Lana Dumitru & Vlad Tenu, Gabriela Baboș, Haus of Creative Rebellion, Ioana Ciolacu, Made With Time, MURMUR, NBC Arhitect, SEEN USERS, Silvia Sibi Stanciu, THE CABIN.

6. The curators for RDW 2024, this year, are… 
Architecture: Andrei Șerbescu – founding partner of ADNBA, Irene Pérez and Jaume Mayol – TEd’A arquitectes studio.
Product Design: Alexander Manu – OCAD University professor, strategist, consultant, author and Matthias Hillner – professor at the SCADpro Department at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Interior Design: Bruno Andreșoiu – architect, architecture journalist and Stella Nikolakaki – senior architect and associate at UNStudio.
Fashion Design: Marian Pălie – philosopher, master’s and doctoral student at the National University of Arts in Bucharest and Andrew Ibi – fashion practitioner, educator and co-founder of BOLD.
Graphic Design: Raymond Bobar – graphic and lettering designer and James Goggin – British/Australian graphic designer and partner at Practise.
Illustration: Maria Surducan – illustrator, comic author and screenwriter and Yuko Shimizu – multi-award winning Japanese illustrator.
