Tuxedo party for Palm Beach: Racil SS16
The brand has only one year of activity. Even so, Chalhoub Racil took the world of fashion by surprise and her designs arrived in more than 15 luxury boutiques in the world in no time. A name to watch, everybody said. And I did. Let’s take a look of Racil SS16 collection. (CLICK on the gallery above, for more pictures)

About the collection. Inspired by the sahed of fruity sorbet, the spring/summer 2016 collection by Racil has in centre that one pice that the designer loves so much: the tuxedo. But I am not talking about the black, sexy, feminine tuxedo for the evening, but I am lusting for the colored pieces in mesmerizing shifting hues of a sunset, like a Rothko painting shimmering over Miami. The timeless jacket, with its satin lapels, now juggles with coconut pulp and grapefruit tones, flirting with a green collar recalling Miami’s palm trees and a electrifying lemon waist. The ultra-flared trousers, so-called Dallas or San Francisco, are an invitation to dance.Somewhere, in Club 54. At dusk, “femme fatales” arrive like a fragrant breeze in Saint-Tropez or backless Beverly Hills party dresses ready to have fun under the starry sky. Cut from featherweight wool and lined in softly washed silk, all of this season’s pieces pair lightness with the freshness of the fabrics. (SS16 campaign imagery featuring Immy Waterhouse)
Abut the designer. Racil Chalhoub’s own background has helped the trajectory of the brand. She had studies fashion design and marketing in London, but her inspiration comes from Paris, in every-day awe of the effortless, feminine interpretations of masculine tailoring seen in the French capital.
