Love stories in the museum: Art Safari Love Edition 2023

There are relationships that resists through time. And there are love stories that became icons in a hectic world. Of course, we are here to follow them, to admire and, thanks to the newest exhibition Art Safari, to see the most beautiful pictures of some famous couples that made history. Well, still one of my favourite picture is with Mick Jagger & Bianca – I know, it didn’t last forever. 🙂 Here are some love stories in the museum at Art Safari Love Edition 2023.

Art Safari Love Edition – June 30th – September 10th 2023 at Palatul Dacia-România – includes 4 exhibitions. Tickets: https://www.artsafari.ro/editia-12/

The first exhibition – „Love Stories”, comes from National Portrait Gallery, London and includes portraits of some iconic couples. My favourites: Salvador Dalí and Gala, Mick Jagger & Bianca, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Harry and Meghan Markle.

“From XVI century to present time, the portrait was closely related to the idea of love and lust and social recognition of a relationship. Therefore, the love and the relationships will be explored in a selection of key art works from Nation Portrait Gallery, London”, says Lucy Peltz, curator „Love Stories”.

The next two exhibitions are dedicated to Romanian masters – Constantin Artachino (1870-1954) and Ion Alin Gheorghiu (1929-2001).

The contemporary wing is taken by the artistic Ondine (n. 1982) vs. Baraka (n. 1994), in an exhibition curated by Ruth Hibbard from Victoria & Albert Museum, Londra: “Nymphs and Zombies”.
