Therefore, the collaboration between Alexander Wang and world famous sport brand adidas is the best news I could hear during New York Fashion Week. adidas Originals confirms a highly anticipated collaboration with New York-based designer Alexander Wang, through a teaser film and a surprise finale to Wang’s Spring/Summer 2017 runway show at New York Fashion Week. After a pop-up truck in New York, on September 17th the trucks will pop up internationally making stops in both London and Tokyo.
The full adidas Originals by Alexander Wang collection will be sold globally at Alexander Wang stores, on www.alexanderwang.com, at adidas Originals stores, at adidas online, and select retailers from Spring 2017.
About the collection: adidas Originals by Alexander Wang is an 84 piece unisex apparel and footwear collection inspired by the idea of overturning commonly accepted rules. This concept behind the collaboration is carried through all touch points of the partnership starting from design to communication to consumer purchasing. Flipping branding conventions, adidas Originals’ iconic trefoil and “originals” logos are rotated upside down, becoming newly and defyingly symbolic.
When these items will hit the shelves? After a pop-up truck in New York, on September 17th the trucks will pop up internationally making stops in both London and Tokyo. A full schedule of stops globally will be revealed at a later date. The first limited capsule drop, only available through adidas Originals by Alexander Wang pop- up truck locations, features nine styles including t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies emblazoned with a graphic appliqué, and a group of Tricots and shorts featuring a co-branded all-over monogram print with an inside-out stitching of adidas’ iconic three stripes. About the campaign: Of course, it isn’t a usual one. Images of the adidas Originals by Alexander Wang collection have been captured by Juergen Teller and feature Rocco Ritchie in his first-ever campaign, alongside long time Alexander Wang models Hanne Gaby Odiele, Binx Walton, Lexi Boling, as well as Luke Storey and Chris Fernandez.
