Forever in Blue Jeans (looking for the perfect pair)

10 months in a year I will be wearing jeans. At least. That’s without counting the denim skirts or shorts or the denim jacket over a silk dress in the summer. It’s simple: I simply love jeans, I fell in love with a perfect Levis’ pair when I was 13 and I couldn’t get them out of my head. Therefore, unless is a black tie party, a very elegant soiree (or 40 Celsius degrees outside) I will probably wear jeans paired with… everything, from flats to high heels, from shinny tops to basic white T-shirts, from striped blazers to white, crisp shirts. Some people could say that the combo is too easy when it comes to fashion, but as Yves Saint Laurent said once โ€œI wish I had invented blue jeansโ€…. let’s call this just a effortless style. And take a look at the catwalks, where all the designers, from Jeremy Scott at Moschino, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Philip Lim, Karen Walker, Fausto Puglisi or Marques Almeida put the denim on top models bodies.

Because it’s never too soon or too hot for a new pair of jeans, I try to look ahead and see what are we are going to find this fall into the stores. The main trend of the season: raw cuts and frayed skinny jeans. At least that’s what producers said. With a twist of the biker’s elements (as we are going to see in Diesel’s fall collection), with a concern for sustainable fabrics and organic textures and metallic embellishments. And I have to admit, it’s not bad and I like skinny jeans in indigo or black, sometimes in pink for the sunny days of the summer. The nice models spotted so far: the black jeans from Diesel, Acne Studios and C&A. And the denim blue (dark or stone washed) at Current Elliott, H&M or Rang & Bone. What’s going to be for you?
