#TheCityGoesElectric
What better way to drive around the city in the Earth Day than an electrical car? I thought I would love the new BMW i8 (and I totally did!) but I was even more surprised by the “little brother”, BMW i3. The choice stays only in details (and by that I mean, the prices…). #TheCityGoesElectric!
The challenge: BMW i3.
The feeling: I was ready for a small, cute and useful car. I discovered a powerful one (it is soooo easy to get a speed ticket, as long as it takes just 7.2 seconds to sprint from 0-100 km/h!) and a very spacious and elegant car inside.
I liked: the splendid interior, the smooth finish of the dashboard, the olive wood and the mix of recycled pets and wool on the chairs. And the fact that, actually, I needed one single pedal to wander through the city: the accelerator one (because, as any smart car, it brakes itself when you lift your foot from the accelerator pedal).
BMW i3 is more than a car. It is proof that responsibility and driving pleasure complement one another to perfection. It’s time to lead by example. The all-electric BMW i3 is the world’s first series-production model to be designed for sustainability at every stage, from the development of the car to its production and everyday use. As an all-electric car, it generates zero emissions – which makes it the perfect companion around town.
The challenge: the BMW i8.
The feeling: Rumor has it that BMW i8 is a “modern and sustainable sports car”. The reality is even better. Sustainable, yes (the hybrid system is perfect to use a little bit less usual combustion in the city, yet having the possibility to go to the seaside without stopping to recharge), and very sport. So sport, that I think it is better to have no problems with your back if you want to use it daily.
I liked: the speed, the shape, the interior and, of course, the envy looks from all the drivers and pedestrians, as well.
The BMW i8 offers far more than pure athleticism. With its unique drive concept, it essentially reinvents the idea of sporting mobility. This is because the powerful plug-in hybrid system with the combination of BMW eDrive technology and a BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine brings together the benefits of an electric motor and a petrol engine to produce an outstanding driving experience.
