Cristina Alexandru, the designer: the minimalism making a maximum impact
I think I have a long history with Cristina Alexandru, the designer. I met her when she was in the first year at UNArte, then I have noticed her beautiful collections for graduation & master and now, at Romanian fashion Week 2026, at Iași, I saw a complete designer. One that already defined her style and her signature. I have to start with a confession: I told Cristina that we need to take some pictures together and that I wanted to try on her outfits in Iași, even before I knew I would be going there. Therefore, I talked to Cristina Alexandru about moodboards and fashion sketches and the minimalism staple of her outfits that made such a maximum impact on the runway.
You can find Cristina Alexandru on Instagram – @kkristina.a / @kultha.studio.
Here – a link to UNArte 2025 fashion show – you can spot some of here pieces from the master collection there.
About all the fashion collections I saw at @romaniancreativeweek – RCW 2026 – here.
My first crush ever in the fashion world was related to… minimalism and clean silhouettes. I’ve always loved simple pieces with strong impact.
My moodboard for my RCW collection included…. neutral tones, modern architecture, oversized tailoring, and everyday urban inspiration.
The special story of this collection is about… existing in a constant drift through time, where moments, emotions and transitions often pass unnoticed.
The details I want people to remember from this collection are… the clean cuts, subtle details, and effortless feeling of the pieces.
My first fashion sketch (ever) was… an oversized blazer look inspired by minimalist streetwear.
Old school items that will always inspire me are… classic white shirts, vintage denim, and structured black coats.
If my fashion mood board would be a city, it would be… Copenhagen, cause it’s minimal, modern, and effortlessly cool.
I wish I invented (in fashion world)… timeless capsule wardrobes with versatile pieces.
The most extravagant thing I wish to design is… a minimalist runway collection with dramatic silhouettes.
The next project will include… sustainable fabrics, relaxed tailoring, and refined layering.
