The poets’ club: follow the new DROMe collection

“There was never a moment where I fell in love with fashion; it has always been my life”, told Marianna Rosati, the designer of the Italian brand DROMe. And that shows in every collection presented by the brand. And it shows in the Fall/Winter 2016/2017 collection, where volumes, oversized sleeve or too long jackets, tightened collars, deconstructed long coats and aerodynamic blouses. Most of them made of leather, of course.

DROMe is currently available in 35 countries and 330 stores worldwide including Les Galeries Lafayette, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Luisa Via Roma, La Rinascente, Isetan or Fred Segal.

The collections DROMe could be found on www.drome.it.

About the Fall/winter 2016/2017 collection. As in the pictures by Deborah Tuberville, lying between fairy-tales and decadence, sometimes disturbing ones, Marianna Rosati, designer of the collection, defines a different woman, catching a private moment of the female world, freezing it in time. Focus is brought into too long and too large sleeved outerwear, matched with super light garments. I must mention the fragments of the ’40s echo in the fashionable sleeves of trench coats, the cat eye sunglasses, the fringes on the bomber jacket and some perfect shoes to dance all night long.

About the brand. DROMe is a Milan-based brand set up in 2008 and its main focus was on leather pieces (not so stereotype ones) by Marianna Rosati and her father (he worked in leather development for Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Céline, and more for 30 years). “I wanted to make things out of leather that weren’t so obvious,” says Marianna. “So that when you look at it, you don’t have the impression that it’s leather.”
