I will start with a confession: I have a love-hate relationship with my hands. I mean… raise your hand who doesn’t! 🙂 But, with the right jewelry, I learned how to love them. Therefore, when I look at my hands (and trust me, I look at them a lot – driving, eating, writing), I see the beautiful pieces of jewelry, the special rings that remind me of sweet memories, the sparkles that make me feel good, the cool shades of interesting stones… And I smile. Yes, you guess it right: today I wanna talk to you about the importance of jewelry in our daily live. And I will do it with Nestelli Diamonds rings, a beautiful #RomanianBrand.

Let’s talk some rings from Nestelli Diamond & the collections of the brand

The Crush. It is about love that left a mark. Or two. Because love is not a soft line; love has curves, has irregularities, have full stops and comings back. The Crush is a sincere declaration about love, with all its sides of courage, fear, passion and human connexions. Of course we have some crushes and some… first little crushes.

The Spark. “It was the first collection of Nestelli Diamonds”, Alexandra Pîslaru, the designer of the brand, said to me. “And it all started with the diamond – through Spark collection we refine and stylize the diamond shape.” In the end, it is a celebration of the sparkle that every woman carries inside her.

The Toi & Moi. It has citrine, aquamarine, It is me and you, a love story that lead to a romantic gesture. Two stones are linked together in one beautiful ring, celebrating the love and happiness.

The Tribute. “It is all about celebration – a good moment of your personal life, a moment when you felt fulfilled, happy, free and brave. It can be you successfully finishing a project, graduating, getting married. It is all about you”, says Alexandra Pîslaru, Nestelli Diamonds designer.

Nestelli was born from the desire to create jewelry that transcends aesthetics. Each piece is a statement of authenticity, a symbol of the courage to be yourself — gracefully, every day, in every gesture. The jewelry house celebrates inner elegance, the emotions that define us and the values that guide us: exigency, innovation and real passion. Nestelli does not create accessories. It creates meaningful forms that speak of who you really are. www.nestelli.ro.

A little bit of jewelry history…

Prehistoric times had… jewelry made from shells, stone and bones, worn as a protection from the dangers or as a mark of status or rank. Medieval period had… gold, silver & precious gems for royalty and copper or pewter for lower ranks. Some jewels have magical inscriptions, to protect the wearer. Renaissance jewels… shared the age’s passion for splendor; enamels, often covering both sides of the jewel, became more elaborate and colorful and evolution in cutting techniques increased the glitter of stones.
Mid-17th century… brought new styles of jewelry, with a lot of gemstones and pearls. Frequently mounted in silver to enhance the stone’s white colour, magnificent sets of diamond jewels were essential for court life. The 19th century… was a period of the industrial and social change, and in jewelry design the focus was often on the past – to ancient Greece and Rome. Naturalistic jewelry, decorated with flowers and fruit, was also popular for much of this period.
The Art Nouveau style… caused a dramatic shift in jewelry design, reaching a peak around 1900. Its followers created sinuous, organic pieces whose undercurrents of eroticism and death, far away from the floral motifs of earlier generations. The years between the 1920s and 1950s brought… sharp, geometric patterns celebrated the machine age, while exotic creations inspired by the Near and Far East hinted that jewelry fashions were truly international.
Since the 1960s… the boundaries of jewelry have been continually redefined. Conventions have been challenged by successive generations of independent jewelers, often educated at art college and immersed in radical ideas. New technologies and non-precious materials, including plastics, paper and textiles, have overturned the notions of status traditionally implicit in jewelry.
The future? We’ll see. Till then, we are going to wear those jewelry that make us happy. Just looking at our hands. Now you see You(r Jewelry)
