Nice to meet you, new designers from UNArte 2024! 

I will make a confession, here 🙂 It was the first time when I stayed at UNArte presentation until the very end (and even a bit after that). Perhaps it was a sign that I liked a lot the first collections appeared on the catwalk and I was curios to see what’s next, maybe because I met a lot of nice people and I stayed there talking about the things we just saw. But one thing is for sure: this edition of UNArte alumni was pretty good. Therefore, nice to meet you, new designers from UNArte 2024!

More fashion, less improvisation and very few scenographic moments: I was happy to see that all the students were pretty much interested in demonstrate their potential. This year, I liked a lot that the Fashion Department of UNArte collaborated very close with other art departments. Therefore, the accessories were pretty nice and unique – glass bags in Ramona Bizbac and Vlad Petru runway, the ceramic earrings and accessories at Ruxandra Ciobanu, the graphic big bags from Alexandra Neagu, the intervention on the shoes at Andreea Mazilu and Sabina Balaban.

I loved… all the outfits from Ramona Bizbac (“RAM” collection) and the re-interpretation of some shirts in Lăcrămioara Crișan (“Cămașa, cât o mie de cuvinte”).

I saw a lot of interesting collections, with a lot of potential. As in… Iulia Vlejoangă collection “Interwined” and her beautiful prints and cuts, the denim reinterpretation in Andrei Buzatu “AB1” and Giada D’Albero “Bătăliile Entropiei”, the corsets in Mihnea Covaci “Elegant Symphony” line an the layering of textures and fabrics in Andreea Mazilu “Melancholy of a Circle” collection. 

I put on my list also the jeans jacket from Alexandra Dincă “Particles”, the patches-covered blazer from Anastasia Miu “1173” collection, the waves of chiffon on the back of the beige piece from Ruxandra Ciobanu “Blanche”, the fluid outfits of Cristina Daia “Mad House” and the jacket with buckles of Maria Popescu “C6ntinuum”.
