Melisa Savu & the beauty of knitting – meet the designer 

First, I saw some of her designs last year, in one of the shows at Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week. Then, I have noticed the outfits and the colorful crochets in the UNArte Show at 2026 graduates runway. Therefore, it was the destiny 🙂 or my wish to meet her and to try her designs that brought us together, at Sibiu, at Feeric Fashion Week, to put together a memorable shooting. Meet the young designer Melisa Savu & her beautiful pieces.

3 fashion things that define me are… ornamentation, colorful collage, material contrast.

My actual collection is inspired by… the different relationships between people, translated through knitting.

My truly personal story with the fashion world began with… the need to express myself through fashion while challenging the way people react to it.

The trend I hate the most is… following trends.

The designer I love best is currently… J.W.Anderson.

One fashion show that stole my heart this year was… Dries Van Noten Men’s Fall/Winter 2026-2027.

My mood board will always include… Twiggy, photographed by Justin De Villeneuve for UK Vogue, 1973.

My favorite item (piece) to design and re-design is… crocheted raffia hats.

The most important lesson learnt in art school was… the value of collaboration.

My next collection will be about… an utopian world where perfection is the norm, and how that ideal translates into fashion within a complex society.
