UNArte 2026: a view from behind the screen
It is hard to judge a book by its cover. It is equally hard to say which are the best collections at UNArte Fashion Gala 2026 since I saw the outfits only through talented photographer Marius Tudose’s photos and stories of my friends. I missed the show this year (I had a valid reason, though) and I present you here, from a behind-the-screen-point of view, the collections I liked.
As usual, there were around 40 collections (Graduation & Master) and some more details will see, probably soon, on Instagram – @unartemoda.
What did I find interesting?
Dominik-Lenard Csankovszky (Amin) – the leather exploration of the uman silhouette. Then, the silhouette again, as the subject in a pretty wearable collection signed Teodora Fîlfănescu (Beyond the Silhouette). Very fun indeed and pretty ease to wear runway looks I saw at Melisa Savu (Nid, Collected Self). And a well done story by Damian Hanganu (Cvadrilul Creveților). I found kind of cool the royal blue looks (and especially the bag) at Ruxandra Ciobanu (Cuir Mat) – she got the award from Molecule-F. Plus: a new and interesting interpretation of traditional motifs in Claudia Pătrașcu collection (I liked the pieces, the styling, the attention to the details).

Details that I liked…
The white creases in Harum Mazlam (O mie de pași) collection. The corset of Maria Constantin (Beatitudine Efemeră). The faces and the sculptures as dress accessories at Valentina Bălașa-Ario (Imaginario). The structured sleeves in Alessia Cernica black oversized dresses (Chaos). And the painting on the beige-white dresses at Alina Jianu (Hora).

Congrats to all the students!
I have noticed the fringed trench at Diana Teodorescu (Sensoria) and the one with a graffiti-like back at Alexandra Lefter (Wall to Wear). And I think that all navy blue denim inspired outfit at Diana Sbîrciog (Liminal) was pretty nice.

Interesting approach of fur details at Alessia Mihăilescu (Feral Structure) and, in the same registre, the flying details at a structured costume at Ana-Maria Brădescu (Persona – From Soft through Raw) and the hooded capes at Florin Lupu (Sirocco). A different approach of war clothes at Cristina David (Cardiologie Tactică). And some outfits meant to be in a fantastic movie at Celeste Angel (Wounded).

I saw a lot of leather use – in Domino Nicolae collection (CTRL: Body Un/Becoming), Armina Zamfir (Anomalia) and Coralia Dubou (After The River Bed), tops and jackets at Iunia Tăleanu (Chaste), in Alexandra Oegar dress-installation (Beauty is a Lae Stage) and Tania Marciu pieces (The Nephilim).

Colors everywhere: in Elena Bândar (From Fear), in Grațian Bălan very very red looks (Muieri), at Fuori 080726 project signed Rădulescu Enache Nechita, the red & dark blue at Petru Vlad (Folded Armor), in Delia Diaconu collection (I Love to be Free) & blue ruffles at Daria Rusu (Ikita Inku). A special mention: for the collection put together from Design Textil department.

And a lot of white, black and grey shades, as well: in Alexandra Dumitru (Rooted), Ileana Toma (In Between), Maria Coșleacără full white outfits (Arhitectura Feminității), the black and white duo at Alexia-Maria Oproescu (Dual Essence), the white game of textures at Maria-Eliza Rusu (Facade collection), white long skirts at Gabriela Petroaia (Offtime).
