Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 17/18: no frontiers
“Today, when some people make us want to believe that the frontiers are stronger and stronger, I think fashion has always broken those frontiers. Especially in Paris—it’s the land of foreign designers; it’s so multicultural. Being in the Louvre where everyone is welcome, where there is no limit of culture, of nationality, is a strong message”, said Nicolas Ghesquière when the new Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 17/18 was presented in the most multicultural space in Paris.
The collection includes leather pieces, as in a very nice black coats, sleek pants, jackets, fur, a relatively unexplored material for Ghesquière chez Louis Vuitton and the denim pieces.

What Nicolas Ghesquière have sent to the runway? An extremely versatile and eclectic line-up, perfect for an international urban wardrobe. The collection includes leather pieces, as in a very nice black coats, sleek pants, jackets, fur, a relatively unexplored material for Ghesquière chez Louis Vuitton, which got a special attention and the denim pieces (well, actually wool treated to create a patina of faded blue jeans) that I bet will be everywhere on fashionista outfits. As for evening, he opted for knee-length slip dresses elaborately worked with pleats, lace insets, sheer panels, and fabrics with contrasting patterns. All of them accessorized with low-heeled boots, well-marked waists, just perfect for urban looks. As for me, I know that I’m in love with the pants outfits.
Several hundred guests were invited to the Cour Marly in the Richelieu wing to watch Louis Vuitton’s models wind their way through the 17th- and 18th-century sculptures wearing Nicolas Ghesquière’s new collection, for the first time ever in the prestigious museum.
