DZHUS’ anatomy: a look at the collection for fall/winter 2019/2020
It’s a little bit weird, I know. It’s a mix of some geometry and a lot of calculated architecture in Irina Dzhus’ clothes. It’s about order. And it’s black and white. Add to that an enormous amount of talent and beauty. Three years after I have discovered her designs, I am still amazed.
DZHUS is a conceptual womenswear brand launched in 2010 by Ukrainian designer and stylist Irina Dzhus.
The pieces from Irina Dzhus collections could be found on www.irinadzhus.com, Facebook (www.facebook.com/dzhus.conceptual.wear), Instagram: @dzhus.conceptual.wear.
“According to my vision of the universe, any object’s structure has countless edges, which divides it into modules, creating a potential for numerous modifications. Many of DZHUS garments are transformers, too”, Irina Dzhus, the designer, told me in 2016, in an interview for www.dreamingof.net.
Avant-garde yet utilitarian, DZHUS clothes have always an innovative cut, multifunctional transformer garments and austere industrial aesthetics – see here the SS17 collection, one of my favourites.
The brand’s ideology stands for consciousness and humanity. Ethically manufactured using cruelty-free materials, all DZHUS products are vegetarian- friendly.
AW19 collection is called “Corpus” and is dedicated to anatomy as the starting point for DZHUS’ design. As a material body is an exquisite mechanism, driven by the phenomenal life energy, the technological morphology of DZHUS clothing is inseparable with the one-of-a-kind essence of its possessor.
