9 things that I loved at Paris Fashion Week SS19

It seems so far away right now. 🙂 And still so yesterday. As usual, Paris was great, with lots of fun, friends and good collections. A little bit of sun, as well. I am ready to take over the next spring/summer 2019 season with white & blue dresses, colourful sporty outfits for urban walks, sparkling jumpsuits for the evening and the best sea-inspired accessories ever. Here are my 9 best moments of Paris Fashion Week SS19.

The Mira Mikati show. As always, full of bright colours & cool music and the best stories on clothes as ever. I loved the miniature fairytales drawn on the back of the blouses, the bunnies & the balloons. For an hour or so, I was in a fantasy land where all the things were magical. https://miramikati.com

The Valentin Yudashkin show. For spring/summer 2019, Russian designer has presented a beautiful collection based on a Japanese inspiration (topknots, kimonos, obi belts, a lot of flowers), mixed in new and unusual fabrics. http://yudashkin.com/en/

Rahul Mishra collection for spring/summer 2019. So much white and so much blue that even now it is hard for me to say which outfit was my favourite. “We are made from our memories and it’s the memories upon which we can build”, the designer said in the backstage, explaining the nostalgic theme of the collection. http://www.rahulmishra.in

Talbot Runhof – the designer duo went bold. After all, even the hastag for the show was #hardtoget. A lot of jumpsuits, a dozen of sequined jumpsuits and tops, a Grace Jones referrence, khaki pieces, holograms. The designers opted to match colors with descriptives like “courageous” (khaki), “iridescent” (strength), and “sparkling” (salvation). https://www.talbotrunhof.com

Yazbukey show. Or, on other words, Yazbukey Fitness Club, at Le Théâtre de la Tour Eiffel. Full of adrenaline, of muscles and… cool sport clothes. The designer’s latest work is inspired by the current obsessions with fit culture. http://yazbukey.com

Masha Ma spring/summer 2019 collection. The Chinese designer is one of my favourite – especially in terms of career and manifesto (read HERE a story about her). This season, she referenced the film “Annihilation”. The colour palette had less black and electric blue, but a lot of bright emerald green, yellow and safari hues. http://www.masha-ma.com

Swarovski Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Their inspiration was the islands and I had my eyes on the beautiful cute earring in the form of a lobster. Or maybe I could think about the cocktail splashed necklace or the little sea creatures in colourful sparkling stones? https://www.swarovski.com

Beautiful People show. The Japanese designer was brilliant, again. No wonder that the brand is on the big schedule of Paris Fashion Week only after three seasons. Deconstructed and re-constructed pieces of clothes, simplicity with a million of hidden details, neutral tones and a music that made the show to give me goose bumps. https://beautiful-people.jp/en/

Marimekko presentation at Musée des Arts Décoratifs also marked the introduction of Marimekko’s annual theme for 2019: Bold by Nature. The collection focuses on archive-inspired liberating and romantic summer dresses. https://www.marimekko.com/eu_en/
