Jewelry is, as one of the designer I met said, the land “where discipline meets imagination, and every piece becomes a story”. And nothing is more accurate than that. Every piece of #RomanianDesigners says a story, a unique story. One that “transforms fleeting feelings into tangible symbols”. This edition of Romanian Jewelry Week 2025 I have discovered some incredible designers that are telling beautiful stories through their beautiful pieces of jewelry. Meet those 5 #RomanianDesigners to look for at Romanian Jewelry Week 2025.

What is the main message of your collection presented at ROJW 2025?

The main message of “Chasing Clouds” is about embracing change – in nature, in the sky, and in ourselves. Clouds remind us that even in storms, there’s a spark of hope. By looking up, we can feel grounded on the earth while connected to the vastness of the sky and the universe. The collection invites us to pause, shift perspective, and find stillness, wonder, and presence in every fleeting moment.

Being a jewelry designer fits me best because it unites the precision I’ve always had with my passion for art – where discipline meets imagination, and every piece becomes a story shaped in metal and light.

The perfect jewelry / the perfect city to wear it and the music that goes with that…

The perfect jewelry is the one you fuse with, that tells something about who you are and how you feel. Wearing a Chasing Clouds necklace, as you walk through the artistic, and romantic streets of Florence, with its Renaissance charm, while listening to Ludovico Einaudi’s Experience, letting the music and the piece flow together with the moment. The jewelry becomes a conversation partner – it reflects your emotions, anchors you in the present and carries you toward a moment of contemplation and inner freedom.

What is the main message of your collection presented at ROJW 2025? 

The main message of my collection presented at ROJW 2025 – “Serendipity – built around the idea of serendipity – it moves like an unseen current, guiding raw ideas toward definition with effortlessness. An act of creation, both instinctive and deliberate, unbound by constraint, crystallizes into form with an almost unconscious fluency.

….. it lets me weave thought and emotion into matter, shaping fleeting ideas as lasting forms that carry the intimacy of identity.

The perfect jewelery / the perfect city to wear it and the music that goes with that…

The perfect jewelry? A gold ring set with stones. The perfect city to wear it? Paris, losing myself in vintage corners while alternative grooves drift through my headphones.

3. Livia Zaharia – @paral_design

What is the main message of your collection presented at ROJW 2025?

It all started with a cell. (The name of the collection is: “It’s just a cell life Biology collection”.) It grew, divided and specialized. As such this collection recalls that. Different forms record different stages or parts of the cell. The collection has a start point, the Nucleus and an end point – Embryo. Particular in this case is the fact that not only 3D printed techniques are used, but also natural materials are integrated via more traditional methods. There are walnut husks combined with metal but also natural amber trapped in digitally designed settings. Also nanot particles which are actually a new medical technology, are made of silver, with or without inclusions. Each piece has a story and you are invited to find it out.

It’s something precious to me. I don’t know about others but I always liked the sparkle and complex shapes of it.

What is the main message of your collection presented at ROJW 2025?

“Ripples in Cement is a celebration of the enduring power of emotion and expression. Inspired by the echoes of grand performances, this collection captures the way that moments of true artistry leave a lasting imprint on our hearts and minds. These creations serve as a reminder that the emotions we experience: passion, vulnerability, joy, do not fade with the moment but continue to ripple outward, shaping our perceptions and connections long after the curtain falls. Wearing these pieces encourages embracing one’s inner drama and recognizing the profound influence that genuine emotion can have, much like the ripples created by a drop in the water.

A necklace crafted entirely from cement and bronze, symbolizing modernity and industrial artistry, displayed against the vibrant backdrop of Shanghai’s skyline, known for blending tradition and innovation. To complement this scene, a hypnotic and romantic song by Hooverphonic: Mad About You. 

5. Smaranda Isar – @smarandaisar

What is the main message of your collection presented at ROJW 2025?

The “Drives” collection is an invitation to pause amidst the chaos of our daily lives and observe the unconscious forces that quietly shape our desires and decisions. It’s about becoming aware of those inner impulses—our drives—and exploring how they manifest through form, texture, and symbolism in jewelry. Each piece is a fragment of thought—worn to provoke dialogue, presence, and self-reflection.

Jewelry carries a symbolic permanence and often holds personal meanings beyond aesthetics, elevating it into a true work of art. Much like miniature paintings or sculptures, jewelry captures intricate details and profound symbolism within a small form, inviting close and intimate contemplation. Materials play a crucial role in why I chose to express myself through the world of jewelry. Ceramics and silver are nearly timeless—among the most enduring of materials, capable of traversing centuries, carrying historical resonance, and serving as bridges between past and future.

The perfect jewelry / the perfect city to wear it and the music that goes with that…

The perfect piece from “Drives” collection feels at home in Tokyo – its rhythm and energy mirrored while listening to Within by Daft Punk. For another artist, I would love to wear one of Michael Berger’s kinetic rings in Lisbon, while listening to Lightenup by Parcels.
