UAD Fashion 2025: the mood, the outfits, the details
Bright colors, structured silhouettes, folkloric influences, cuts and fabrics mixed in the most unexpected was, deconstructions and layerings, beautiful outfits and some cool details. Add to that a lot of good & old friends, a good vibe and a catwalk in a spectacular immersive Museum (MINA) in Cluj and you can have the complete picture of one of the most interesting fashion events. This year, the main theme of the 2025 UAD Fashion catwalk of the graduates and master students of the Fashion department was “Forward”. Therefore, fast forward to the collection… here they are: UAD Fashion 2025, the mood, the outfits, the details.

The details I liked…
The toys, the layering and the colors at Bartha Fruszina (her collection explored the relationship between dream and sub-conscience through fashion design). The prints at Kurkó Maja-Andreea – her collection “Pierced Wings” combines the rebel aesthetics of Punk subculture with the delicacy of the insects, exploring the contrast between fragility and power. The oversized top at Desi Botineșteanu (and the very unusual brooch pinned on it) – in the collections that has the romanticized beauty in the center. The layering at Mădălina Iuliana Sirban (her collection, Existential Noise, talks about architectural styles like Bauhaus and Brutalist in an personal way and in some interesting shapes and cuts of the fabrics). The fluid, circular cuts and the little brooches seen in a totally white collection of Vincze-Pistuka Antónia-Dóra (“Invisible” is a collection that explores the unseen dimensions of fashion through UV light). The super cool cape at Gabriela Valerica Foca (her collection seen as a transformation process in tones of beige, brown and almond).

The outfits I love…
Ema Sara Cărpușor – a happy silhouette, I may say, with a lot of mixed fabrics and styles, from wool and vinyl and 20s, 50s and a hint of Japanese influence. The outfit signed Izabela Alexandra Herman (the cape, the pants, the top) – I just loved the 50s clothes, inspired by the Seckler influence inherited from her grandmother and the beautiful embroideries on the fabric. The outfit with a very well done pleated cape from Alexandra Constantinescu (her theme was “Savile Row, between tradition and Avantgarde)

The collections to put on my favourite list…
The navy theme with some cool knittings of Alessia Porumb (loved also the details – a glass bag, cool caps and glasses). Bartha Réka Kinga her collection combines avant-garde shapes with classic silhouettes: hybridized trench coats, dresses and shirts (loved the cutting technique and details such as embroidery and abstract prints, reflecting the process of metamorphosis) – soon, an interview with the designer on www.dreamingof.net. Bianca Larisa Hiristea and her outfits – the layering, the knitting, the colours, everything was just right in place – – soon, an interview with the designer on www.dreamingof.net. The very detailed and rich in details collection of Raul Valentin Matiș (which combines sustainability with innovation and eclectic influences, from punk and rock aesthetics to traditional and romantic motifs).

The drama nice to watch…
Nicolai Vulpe and his oversized Otoman outfits – witty, funny, over and very very happy. Teodora Cocișiu and her Emo ballerina style – ,,Internet Guardian Angels” collection. The masked presentation of some nice layering in Cristina Nicoleta Stoichițiu “CLusion” theme (a combo between Pierrot and Harlequin and some unusual prints). The Punk / Goth mood at Alexandru Victor Bagyo -with all theirs specific elements, from leather and biker jackets, from pins to metal details. And the very imperial oriental influenced collection from Önder Azime.

The dresses & coats to remember…
Because, yes, I saw a lot of them. 🙂 The coats and printed blazers at Antonia Stoica (very nice the mix between the wool, the tweed, the digital prints in a reinterpretation of British uniform of the 40s). The caramel coat with lace details in victorian-inspired Andrei Victor Pantiș collection. The mystic coat (inspired by tarot cards and all the misticism around them) at Borbély Sarolta. The very colorful coats, with a 80s vibe and Pop-Art digital prints at Jakab Zsófia. The embroided coat (and the glittery details on the back) at Sebastian Crucianu – his “Sous l’œil” is inspired by the avant-garde cinematography. The blue and white printed coat at Makranczi Lilla (and the idea of the collection – the intrinsec relation between clothes and human body). The checkered punk and chic jacket at Szabo Mihaly. The coat at Sándor Andrea, with nice influences of Art Deco era. The grey dress at Cristina Filipoiu (the cuts, the fabric, the volumes). The white dress in a very Victorian style at Adelina Ștefania Suciu Oancea. And the white dress with some unexpected volumes at Diana Vasilița.
