UAD Fashion 2024 – the next level of fashion collections

It was the first time in the last 10 years when I wasn’t there, to see (and to feel) the collections of the UAD Fashion Design at the first hand (if you don’t count the pandemic year). Well, the absence motivated and all the friends (stylist, bloggers, media) have sent me pictures and their favourites. And I will have, soon, some wonderful pictures with some of them here, on the blog, so… stay tuned. But, to come back to the present time, I present you here all the collections from UAD Fashion 2024 alumni. All under the motto „the next level”.

You can find out more about the UAD Fashion Cluj-Napoca works and artistic projects on – Instagram – @uadfashion  / Facebook – UADFashion.

28 capsule collections from the diploma and master projects of the 2024 promotion were presented – Department of Fashion-Fashion Design, UAD Cluj-Napoca. 20 graduates of the diploma program and 8 graduates of the master’s program presented their clothing creations in a unique space TheOffice Cluj-Napoca.

Modern sophistication, history of costume, references from the history of fashion, constructions, volumes and embroideries specific to couture, the reinterpretation of artisanal techniques, manipulation of the textile surface, the construction of strong visual identities, the exploration of personal themes, responsible approaches – these are elements that characterised the the 2024 collections of UAD Fashion. As following (in their appearance on the catwalk).

From Diploma:

Mădălina Ionela Țăran – It is one of the collection that was on my favourites list from the moment I saw the first images from UAD Fashion on Instagram. I loved the coats and the fabrics used.

Ghenghiz Beghim – I told you I love the coats and everything that resembles as one 🙂 Some interesting digital prints and some good proportions of the outfits.

Alexa Crâșmăreanu – A mix of fabrics, neutral tones and eclectic cuts.

Diana Grigorescu – Beige, white and black, slim and minimalism outfits – a collection perfect for urban office days.

Carla Bianca Forrai – Very, very interesting details, lots of crafts and an autumn mix of colours.

Andreea Letiția Godzin – All black outfits (actually, this year, a lot of collections were mono-colour in black or white, which I like :), with nice details.

Cristina Andreea Strugar – Another all black collection, with a touch of retro mid-centuries details, with lace and embroidery.

Alexia Ciloci Serdean– Punk, animées, denim and a bit of graffiti – a young and very fresh collection.

Andreea Bora – I just loved the combo electric blue with earth brown, especially on these satin (a little bit shinny) fabrics.

Ruxandra Măzărescu – Prints in blue; yes, another one, but in a different style, reminding me of some Japanese kimono work.

Ioana Andreea Dodoloi – Black & white, deconstruction of the fabrics, prints resembling of a graffiti.

Andrei Ioan Petculescu – A collection mainly for boys (I must applaud that) with some nice prints and clean cuts.

Răzvan Pual Dîrle – A statement collection in black (of course, told you 🙂

Ioana Iosif – Nice interpretation of accessories, fluid and minimalist collection.

Alexandra Suveică – One of the few colourful collections from UAD Fashion 2024. I liked the prints (actually, as I saw, some applied patches of embroideries).

Lousenie Dumesle – Not my style, but definitely eye-catching! I liked a lot the prints (and the fact that they are almost telling me a story from the edge of the blouses and skirts) and the really nice cuts.

Mădălina Ciobanu – A bit of drama, a bit of joy – nice played and cool details!

Raluca Mihaela Jula – This was another white collection I loved from the first minute I saw the stories of my friends transmitting live from Cluj. Well done!

Adrian Gabriel Anghel – one of the white collections that I loved very much (I cannot wait to see the outfits for real, very soon).

Mihai Cristian Anghel (yes, it is the twin brother of the first Anghel mentioned) had also a full white collection, very well crafted and presented.

From Master:

Sonia Jessica Durco – Every master student had to present 6 total outfits and Sonia managed to transform the white into 6 different and yet in the same story items – just look at the transformation of the fabric and the shades of white.

Mara Virginia Cîrlig – White, lace, cape, pearls – full white looks for a glamorous appearance.

Camelia Boaru – A collection with a playful interpretation of lengths and prints with shades from nude to beige and white.

Carina Hărșan – A lot of volumes, some cute cartoons and very nice floral prints, in some fluid and bohemian outfits.

Alexandra Iulia Groșan – Sequins everywhere! And a big dose of cuteness (have you seen the dogs, birds and hearts?!).

Iuliana Daniela Nistorică – Loved the sleeves, enjoyed the shinny fabrics and… the black use 🙂

Renata Mihaly – I saw some of her works at Romanian Creative Week – very nice and with a powerful story, inspired by Romani traditional clothes.

Mara Popa – I know her work (read here an interview from Arad Fashion Days with her). But I am still impressed of her perseverance and consistency. Last collection was about the childhood dreams, now is a bit mature, all in black.
