Balenciaga. “Cristóbal Balenciaga”, a Spanish-language miniseries (on Disney+). Travel back in time to Paris in 1937 and witness the designer’s defining moment as he unveils his first haute couture collection. Bina Daigeler is responsable for the costumes of this series and the actor Alberto San Juan embodies Balenciaga himself. 

Dior vs. Chanel. “The New Look” (on Apple TV+) is the series that will bring us the drama and the fashion war between these two big houses, right from the period of World War II. Ben Mendelsohn stars as Dior, while Juliette Binoche portrays the legendary Coco Chanel. Watch their rivalry unfold against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Paris. 

Galliano. “High & Low: John Galliano” (in cinema this spring). The documentary opens in cinemas, exploring the complex story of the designer – from the quick fame to the controversy in 2010 and reinvention a couple of years later. The movie is featuring interviews with Sidney Toledano, Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, Charlize Theron and Galliano himself. (The film director is Kevin Macdonald) 

Vogue world. If you love more documentaries, later this year you look for “In Vogue: The 1990s” (on Disney+). This promises a deep dive into Vogue’s inner workings in the era of the “Big Six” supermodels. It includes interviews with Edward Enninful and Anna Wintour, as well as cameos from leading figures from 90s fashion, music and film.

The Twiggy. Another documentary – the film “Twiggy” (directed by Sadie Frost, who also did “Quant”), about the world’s first supermodel (in cinema this spring). The cast includes Paul McCartney, Pattie Boyd, Lulu – and they used the new VR technology when filming to make a now 74-year-old Twiggy look as if she were walking down Carnaby Street the way it was six decades ago.

Yves Saint Laurent. If you didn’t see it until now – “Saint Laurent” (Prime Video), a movie about one of the most talented designers. Gaspard Ulliel gets the main role as Yves Saint Laurent in a movie that is dealing with not only fashion and its challenges, but also with the society in the 70s Paris.

Gucci saga. Of course, if you missed the movie in cinema, stream now the epic “House of Gucci” (Prime Video). Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Camille Cottin and other talented actors make you be involved in the fashion drama of Gucci house.  

The high society. “Truman Capote and the Scandalous Swans” (on Hulu). A high-society drama about Truman Capote (played by the charming Tom Hollander) and his circle of glamorous muses, the Swans. The costumes are created by Lou Eyrich.
