“Ștefan Câlția: Storytelling objects”. The exhibition must see & listen!
“I give you things from where you could start and make your own story. It is not necessarily the beginning, but fragments of a story, that could become your own”, Ștefan Câlția told me a couple of years ago. Now, my personal story could grow bigger. And that is the beautiful paintings reminding me of fairytales and fantastic worlds, the personal objects from the artist’s studio and the amazing stories that linked them, narrated by Ștefan Câlția himself are put together in one incredible exhibition. “Ștefan Câlția. Storytelling objects”.
The exhibition “Ștefan Câlția. Obiecte grăitoare” (“Ștefan Câlția. Storytelling objects”) is open, until 20th of September 2017, at Art Collections Museum (111, Calea Victoriei, Bucharest), from Saturday to Wednesday, between 11.00 and 19.00.

A flower library, a pottery shelf, a peculiar installation of a sardine and a plate, the rugs, a wall of ancient tools for iron ware. Hundreds of objects, to many to be counted vegetal details and a dozen of seraphic and (just apparently) fragile characters are put together in an exhibition that is more than an artistic route through the entire artistic world of Ștefan Câlția. How does an object is so related to a drawing? How does an old photography was the beginning of a beautiful painting? The artist is telling us the stories, in “Audio Meetings”, audio fragments that could be found in izi.TRAVEl app.
“The world must not be read as a sum of science experiments and their results. The world must be read in the pauses between the things”. Thank you, Ștefan Câlția, for all the stories you made me see.
