Katerini Mou, bites of happiness: interview with the designer

February 12th, 2020 / by / in: Dazzling stories / No responses

A tiny little detail can change everything, in just one second. In life, in a business but, more important (at least here, on a lifestyle blog) in an outfit. Katerini Mou headpieces, the earrings and the brooches are, in fact, those accessories that emphasise my statement. Those details that transforms the casual outfits into some elegant ones and an emotional bridal day into a fabulous one. In a super cosy showroom (with a super nice host) I talked to the designer of Katerini Mou about the fashion crushes, the moodboard for spring/summer 2020 collection and the biggest challenge for a designer nowadays.

Katerini Mou pieces are available in… our showroom (Madrid 4 street, Bucharest), on our website – https://www.katerinimou.com, at Molecule-F Concept Store (General Eremia Grigorescu 4 street), www.molecule-f.com and other shops around Romania and Italy.

My first fashion crush story… was related to Madonna, in my early teens. She was so bold and inspiring, I was hypnotised.

The moodboard for our 2020 collection includes… sustainable pieces and flamenco beats. And compliments from the designer.

The most extravagant thing I wish to design is… a collection fully sustainable. Extravagant for me is shocking by concept, not by dimensions.

The icon piece that will always be in our collections is… the Wheat Crown. It’s been a trademark since I first created it and it truly defines the brand.

If my collection were a classic movie… that would be Fellini’s Roma. A fine lesson of aesthetics, elegance in relation to setting and other circumstances, flaws and all.

The perfect TV series for my collection would be… I don’t watch series much, but what firstly comes to my mind is Sex and the City. Carrie’s headpieces and Samantha’s earrings are to-die-for, always.

The biggest challenge for a designer nowadays is… to remain an artist while dealing with the business related issues.

We need fashion in our life because… We don’t need it, but we should absolutely consider it, since it is a mean of expressing our identity. Just like any other choice you make on a daily basis.

About Ecaterina Colasiz we should know… that she loves what she does.
