Baby, it’s cold outside! But it is nice & very cool inside of the art galleries. It’s time to take a tour – a very quick one – of the latest art exhibitions in Bucharest. Put these 13 exhibitions to see on the list and pay attention – some of them are just a pop-up gallery.

✔️Mirare Gallery – @miraregallery – a new and very mobile multi-sensorial contemporary art gallery. Between 27th of November 30th of November 2024 – the exhibition “Every Living Being is a Chimera”, at Common House Bucharest. This exhibitions proposes a dialogue between characters, experiences, moods and feelings. The artists on display (from sculpture to installations and photography): Raluca Băraru, Anastasia Dumitrescu, Mihaela Coandă, Ana Preduș, Alexandru Ranga & Cristian Răduță.
✔️Gaep Gallery – @gaep.gallery – ARTISTS: Răzvan Anton, Pavel Brăila, Felipe Cohen, Vlatka Horvat, Théo Massoulier, Sebastian Moldovan, Tania Mouraud, Damir Očko, Cătălin Pîslaru, Mihai Plătică, Raluca Popa, Marilena Preda Sânc, Mircea Stănescu, Ignacio Uriarte. On the occasion of GAEP’s 10th anniversary, the exhibition “Mnemonics [back to the future]” brings together new works by all the 14 artists that the gallery represents or collaborates with on a long-term basis.
✔️Art Safari – @artsafari_bucharest – “The most beautiful Christmas traditions” – artworks signed by Andy Warhol, Henri Matisse, Marius Bunescu, Ion Mirea Viorel Mărginean. (From 28th of November to 15th of December 2024)
✔️At Arsmonitor – @arsmonitor the exhibition “Florin Mitroi – Chapter: 1 Winter” – curated by Erwin Kessler – read here an interview with the curator. There are over 30 works in the show, plus the over 60 photographs.
✔️ National Museum of Art – @mnar.arts – Within the Poland – Romania Cultural Season 2024-2025, the National Art Museum of Romania (MNAR) in partnership with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow (MOCAK), Cricoteka (Tadeusz Kantor’s Art Documentation Center) and the Polish Institute in Bucharest presents between October 20, 2024 and March 9, 2025 the “Tadeusz Kantor” Exhibition – artist anywhere and anytime”
✔️ Hamid Nicola Katrib @hnkgallery– “Maze of wonders” exhibition. This offers an immersive experience at the intersection of art and interior design, exploring concepts of sophistication, beauty and innovation. 15 art works integrated with deco, perfumes, ceramic or paint. Colors become vehicles of emotion and symbols of transformation. Cosmic blue tones, used to render a vast and mysterious universe, contrast with the shades of fire in the monumental work Pegasus, while shades of bordeaux or jungle green in other compositions create an atmosphere of opulence and intensity.
✔️At @sector1gallery – Vertical Expression of Horizontal Desire – Oláh Gyárfás (until 14 of December 2024). Sculptures and installations. Taking as starting point the process of creation within a certain material -be it hemp, recycled fibers, self-made clay, wood, or a combination of all the above, the artist challenges us to explore a transitional space between different worlds.
✔️At Sandwich Gallery – @sandwich.gallery – one interesting installation of the digital artist @nicomures – The Office After Dark (until the end of January 2025).
✔️ If you want something more alternative, at Casa Presei enter Atelierele Scânteia – @atelierele_scanteia – a lot of young artists, with their studios, a cool vibe, nice works.
✔️ At Kulterra Gallery @kulterraartgallery – Obie Platon @obie.platon is having a blast with “Metus Machina” exhibition (to see until 1st of December 2024).
✔️ #artăorientală At MNAR – a new permanent exhibition (from 22 November 2024) Oriental Art Gallery. It will include almost 600 art objects from Azerbaidjan, Bulgaria, China, Daghestan, Egypt, Greece, India, Iran, Japan, Siria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
✔️KOG7 Gallery – @kogalniceanu7 – a new exhibition “Check in HDD”, with 12 different artistic visions. Among artists invited: Răzvan Stanciu, Bogdan Andronic, Ionuț Cristea, Mihai Glodeanu, Ana Luchian.
✔️ #hartăemoționalăurbană Muzeul Hărților (Londra no. 39 street) – photography exhibition – “Unseen City” signed by Cristina Bobe – details of some anonymous places in the city.
