Because the designers sticks to his crazy funky happy style. “I would say my style is kind of street-sporty, glittery, maximalist. The more patterns, colors, textures, sparkle, cleverness, cheekiness, joie de vivre, passion I can put into an outfit the more happy I am!”, the designer Johnson Hartig said in one interview (read it here on www.dreamingof.net). And it seems that his tastes didn’t change a bit for Libertine Spring/Summer 2017 collection. I don’t have a thing for colors, but I have to admit that if I must try a pattern-layered idea, I could go easily for Libertine’s designer idea. In this collection, I surely could find shades from crazy fuchsia to sunny yellow, from the bright red to fluo green. Add to that the series of homages to Bob Marley, ganja leaf–emblazoned hoodies and shirts.

For the messages – We hate Everything, #ArtIsLife, Chic as Hell – and for the hundreds of faces (if I look closely, I could recognised Queen Elisabeth or Sidney Poitier).

I find the overwhelming embellishments super-cute. Spring brought with it beading, sequins, rhinestones, and more. The most desirable piece? The finale look’s bleached army jacket, trimmed in plenty of bullion embroidery, a kind of Napoleonic rock ’n’ roll uniform.

The last, but not the least, for the standouts details, that included the sequined lip motifs which spilled out strands of pearls, affixed on everything from lapels to underwear and the hot pink patterned tights paired with simple slides covered in rainbow fur.
