5 perfumes I love this season

A mood booster? An antidote for the not so friendly weather? I will bet on a exquisite fragrance. One to lift up my enthusiasm and to cheer the day. For this fall, I chose 5 perfumes that I love and use. Depending on the mood of the day, of course. Read about their specific notes and choose your favourite. Plus: read about the famous exhibitions of the fashion houses that gave us these perfumes. Therefore, 5 perfumes I love this season are…

1. MMW – Givenchy La Collection Particulière
I had a long story (and strange sometimes) with Palo Santo. Therefore, when I was invited to test, blindly, the all the perfumes from this special collection (inspired by the haute-couture collection of the brand), it was not a surprise that I chose MMW with Palo Santo. “You have your own style, personality. Accentuate them. And if you have a favorite perfume, cherish it. Because it’s a part of you,” said Hubert de Givenchy, founder of the eponymous Couture house.
The notes: after an initial blast of freshness, the perfume rapidly unveils its true heart, a modern composition of deep and textured woods. Palo Santo combined with a refined duo of Cedarwood essences and enriched by Haitian Vetiver, Indian Sandalwood Essence, and Cardamom. (https://www.givenchybeauty.com/en/ro. 2. Paris – Paris by Chanel
It is a perfect fragrance for a rainy day. And that is because is a Chypre Floral fragrance, launched in 2022, and the nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Polge. After a year of using it, I still love Paris – Paris – it depicts the vibrant and timeless Paris of Gabrielle Chanel; the authenticity of her character and the modernity of her soul. It is a dreamy Paris on a carefree morning on the terrace of a Parisian cafe.
The notes: top notes are Citruses, Pink Pepper and Lemon; middle note is Damask Rose; base note is Patchouli. (www.chanel.com, available in Romania – in Chanel Espace Beauté, www.baneasashoppingcity)

3. J’adore L’Or by Dior
In my college years, I had a couple of perfumes I was obsessed by: two of them are not produced anymore but I am happy to see that J’adore is still here, in a new variant. “I wanted to move from the aura of J’adore to the gold of J’adore. To its olfactory quintessence. I wanted to give this floral signature accents of purity by exaggerating the contours of the flowers, to bring out all their nuances and define a new texture, like enveloping liquid gold. A new, instantly attractive sensuality”, said Francis Kurkdjian, Director of Dior Fragrance Creation, the nose behind this fragrance.
The notes: Francis Kurkdjian masterfully balances notes of Orange Blossom, Jasmine Grandiflorum and Centifolia Rose absolutes. (https://www.dior.com/en_ro/beauty, in Romania available in Dior Boutique, Băneasa Shopping City)

4. Maison Margiela Under the Stars: The Magic of the Wilds
I just love the Maison Margiela fragrances, especially this collection that reminds me of the happy moments on holiday. With this fragrance, we are venturing forth to western Africa to Namibia to rest beneath a nighttime sky with Under the Stars.
The notes: Under the Stars is an adventure and a place of calm amongst the wild side of nature, with a top of dry and spicy Black Pepper that gives way to a heart of hearty Cedarwood. The magic evening continues in the base with the warming embrace of Labdanum, sensual Leather, and sacred Agarwood. 5. MYSLF by Yves Saint Laurent
Yes, I know it is, theoretically, for men. But what is best to feel in power in a crazy night of the winter? MYSLF was launched in 2023, and the nose behind this fragrance is Christophe Raynaud. I just loved the campaign and the design of the bottle – a black lacquered monolith in nuances where you can see yourself and at its heart, embedded in the glass, is the iconic YSL Cassandre logotype.
The notes: top notes are Calabrian Bergamot and Bergamot; middle note is Tunisian Orange Blossom; base notes are Ambrofix™ and Patchouli. (www.ysl.com, in Romania available in Sephora, Douglas store, www.notino.ro)
