3 runways that mattered at Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2019

If New York had its cool dose of fashion and trends and new innovative designers and London put some manifesto runways on the stage, Milan Fashion Week was, always, as full as glamour as possible. And that is because here all the shows are “big”. And worth looking at. This season, 3 runways, at Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2019, were significant – from different reasons.
First of all, Dolce & Gabbana show – www.dolceandgabbana.com. It was a manifesto of diversity (age, gender, body size). “Each one of us is the king or queen of our own lives!” Domenico Dolce declared. And all the unconventional models on the catwalk worn the new outfits from Dolce & Gabbana collection with much confidence. We saw Monica Bellucci in a black-and-white polka dot dress, Carla Bruni in a gold and silver three-piece trouser suit, Isabella Rossellini in black lace tailoring, with her daughter, Elettra, and her grandchild. Line completed by “professional” models from the golden generation – Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova. (photo up)
Secondly, Moschino show – www.moschino.com – from different reasons. This fall, Jeremy Scott will be the guest designer for the capsule collection with H&M. Therefore, all the eyes of the fashionista were on his Moschino collection, hoping to take a glimpse into the November (more affordable) collection. Moschino was a “sketch”. Designer Jeremy Scott dedicated his spring/summer 2019 collection to the “fantasy of the design studio” — and the cult of the great designers in the history — to create 67 looks in which retro hats, graffiti sketches, sweat suits and jean jackets coexist. Yes, Gigi Hadid was, again, his muse.
Thirdly, Versace – www.versace.com – and that is because it was the last one on the Italian flag. Michael Kors announced recently that will take over the company (an announcement that stirred the fans of Versace brand so much that Donatella’s Instagram account was overwhelmed by comments). Until we see the way the house will be transformed (if it will be at all) let’s recap the collection for spring/summer 2019, as powerful as ever for Amazonian Versace glamour: micro-flower print dresses, lace skirts, leather pieces, asymmetric black dresses, worn this time with trainers and ankle-strap sandals.
