3 collections on my list from New York Fashion Week
Cool, edgy, sophisticated, jet setting glamour: these was the fall/winter 2019/2020 collections’ vibe at New York Fashion Week this year. What did I liked? Look at these 3 beautiful collections.
First, Tom Ford (pictured up). He mixed up silk satins with hoodies, red and black, and his suits are beautiful, as ever. Just look at Gigi Hadid in the red velvet (Tom Ford trademark) tux. Shoulders were strong, collars were turned up, and waists were snug.
Proenza Schouler – a catwalk up in the sky (literally, at the 22nd floor of 55 Hudson Yards). The fall/winter 2019/202 collection of the designers was very well cut and constructed, with clean lines and neutral colours. Hernandez and McCollough also revived the pleated dress silhouette that’s been successful for them in the past.
And the on the third position… Tibi. The American brand, under the baguette of the designer Amy Smilovic, had sleek suiting, wool single button coats, knit turtlenecks and poplin dresses. Perfect clothes for the modern woman of Manhattan. High shine trousers under that basic coat, an open-back cable knit cream sweater. Minimal, yet amazing.
