17 designers to watch – seen at Moldovan Brands Runway 2024
It was the third edition of Moldovan Brands Runway (MBR) this spring. And I have noticed some interesting names there (yes, this year only from the runway photos, but I promise that next year I will be there transmitting live from Chișinău). Here are the designers and their collections at Moldovan Brands Runway 2024. 17 designers to watch are, as follows…

With the theme “Whispers of the Deep”, this year’s event took participants on a deep journey into the symbiotic relationship between fashion and the maritime world. Each collection has been uniquely complemented by the immersive digital art of French artist Maotik, combining fashion with state-of-the-art digital art. In between presentations, guests admired Maotik’s immersive and interactive art installations. The digital exhibition also included the captivating aquatic-themed works of artists Milkorva and Rus Khasanov.
But let’s talk about the designers….
The catwalk lit up with the spring/summer collections of 17 designers from Moldova, Romania, Georgia and Ukraine, including OK KINO, Julia Allert, L. Storojuc, Valentina Vidrașcu, Andra Handaric (RO), BAHRIM (RO), Šotropa, Sekana, Georgette, Ionel, EHO, Mallena, March Again, Tricon, Nicole Storm, Barbara Collection and the collective presentation Dofamin Concept Space (Bevza, GUDU, J’amemme, Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili, Ruslan Baginskiy etc.) (UA/GE ).
Some of them I knew (read the interviews with Andra Handaric and Ramona Bahrim – click on links). I tried, at some point, the outfits for others (Georgette and L. Storojuc or Valentina Vidrașcu), and the rest I met for the first time (virtually, of course). And I think the spring/summer of 2024 has all the premises to be a very fashionable season – from minimalist cuts and palettes to vividly coloured designs, pieces inspired by traditional wear and pieces that reflect inspirations from various cultures.
