10 years of Vladimir Șetran in Cahiers du Cinéma
It is always interesting to find out what’s behind a finished painting hanging on the wall of a gallery. How many hours of hard work, how many trials, how many white nights and sleepless days until I could enjoy the beautiful and heart throbbing paintings. The exhibition “Cahiers du cinéma” of Vladimir Șetran, at AnnArt Gallery is perfect to satisfy my curiosity. And more…
The exhibition will be open between 24 of March and 9th of April at AnnArt Gallery, 39 Paris Street, Bucharest, Romania (www.annartgallery.ro)
That’s because 10 years of work, 10 years of painting, drawings, collages of the artist Vladimir Șetran are presented as a collection of 100 notebooks (different kind of themes and techniques). Dogs and flowers, nudes and graphic lines and abstract spots of color, dozen of trials and artistic research all of them in a form of collages made of textiles, metallic pieces and natural fibers – artworks themselves.
The experience doesn’t stop: what better way to “read” a piece of art than sitting on one? The chairs from the limited edition of Photoliu / Irina Pogonaru / are waiting for visitors.
Vladimir Șetran is one of the most important Romanian artists and his work includes figurative and abstract painting, drawing and graphics.
