New York Fashion Week moment: Marc Jacobs fall/winter 18/19
Marc Jacobs could never be boring. Or temperate. And he proved that with fall/winter 18/19 collection, presented at New York Fashion Week.
Inspired by 1980s haute couture, exaggerated shapes and saturated colours (vivid pink, orange and turquoise), the fall/winter 1819 collection presented by Marc Jacobs was rapidly put on the wish list by all fashionista all over the world. Each piece in this collection, whether an elegant gown or wool trousers, have an apparent heaviness that is styled perfectly so that every layered design peers through just as colourfully as the previous.
Everything was exaggerated: the shoulders were so wide that the models might have been wearing coat hangers under their clothes, bows were very large, skirt was oversized and the shirt sleeves were rolled up a bit every time. Some Eigthies funny packs completed the looks, as long as some hats that covered the faces.
