Cool, daring & smart: the new wave of designers seen at Romanian Creative Week 2025
More than 35 individual shows, 7 collective collections, beautiful exhibitions (my heart is still there, in Iași), light installations, thousands of viewers, a lot of fun (and a bit of rain): this was, for short, the summary of Romanian Creative Week 2025. The things I liked at RCW 2025 edition are…

The daring layering seen at the designers from Day 1 – Academia Competition. I liked a lot the black and white with a twist of fun outfits seen at Alexa Crîșmăreanu (READ here an interview with the designer), the use of black at Steliana Macsimov, the playful layers at Sebastian Crucianu, the earth colors at Ioana Dodoloi and I found interesting the experiment collection from UnArte X Irina Schrotter. The collections I loved – Andrada Negru & the awesome outfits from Genghiz Beghim (READ here an interview with the designer).

Day 1 – the evening shows – Academia Selection – has started with black and white butterflies inspired Mara Popa collection (amazing, as usual – READ here an interview with the designer). UnArte București had a more theatrical approach of the collective collection, while UT Gh. Asachi Iași line was inspired by Romanian traditions. Unage Iași was as poetic as it could be, UT Chișinău surprised by details, MDVTM Timișoara stole the viewers hearts with… a heart bag, while UAD Fashion Cluj Napoca had a very coherent collective collection.

Day 2 – New Wave Selection – First part of the day was a real treat for the eyes. Corina Caravasili maintain the clear cuts and the exquisite fabrics for her collection (READ here an interview with the designer), Dragoș Constantine had a very goth capsule (soon, very soon, an interview with the designer will come to blog). I like the volumes and prints from Dani Radu, the chic outfits from Enter The Cabin (soon, here, an interview with the designers), the details from Ionuț Răzvan, the fabrics, the accessories &the cuts at Ramona Bizbac ((soon, here, an interview with the designer) and the layering at Robert Roca. Hamza had a very interesting collection, as well as Victoria Rusu.

Day 2 – The New Wave Competition – textures, fabrics, colors, interesting approaches at Daniel Gorban, Haus of Creative Rebellion, Mihnea Covaci, MadHouse by Cristina Daia, Pif Stephano, Richard, Sannat, Szy. Congrats!

Day 3 – Romanian Designers. Well, it was hard to decide which one I loved most. From stripes (and beautiful bags) at Ioana Ciolacu to the colorful and tonic creations at Lenca (READ here an interview with the designer), from wearable pieces at Cristina Lazăr to the glowing sequins at Tudor Halațiu, from the exquisite collection at Axente to the beautiful prints at Bol by Oana Lupaș, from ready-to-wear pieces at Andreea Tincu to the layering at Raluc and Scapadona, from the out-of-this-world collection at Lunar Laboratories to the explosion of smiles and good vibes at Irina Schrotter.
