Colorful capsule collection: COS collaborates with California-based artist Chris Perani

Colors for winter? Of course, when we are talking about the latest collaboration – COS has teamed up with California-based photographer Chris Perani for a limited-edition capsule collection that blends art and fashion in a truly unique way.
COS limited collection – from 4th of December 2024 on www.cos.com and selected COS stores.
About the collection…
* The 24-piece collection draws inspiration from Perani’s experimental photographic techniques, which involve creating a series of 350 exposures that are meticulously composited into a single image. His focus on microscopic details and iridescent colors translates into rich, nature-inspired patterns across a variety of fashion staples.
* Key pieces include a classic white shirt adorned with a beaded butterfly wing appliqué and a long-sleeved wool dress, reimagined in deep, rich tones that evoke the ethereal beauty of Perani’s work. An elegant long-sleeve dress in double-faced wool knit is reimagined as a statement piece. The digital prints applied to both sides of the fabric create a fluid, yet structured silhouette, mimicking the organic movements of nature.
* In addition to womenswear, the collection includes menswear and accessories, with striking denim sets featuring subtle jacquard patterns reminiscent of butterfly wings.
About the artist…
* Known for his mesmerizing macro photography of nature’s unseen beauty, Perani captures the intricate details of organic forms, from the delicate scales of butterfly wings to the rich textures of minerals.
* Fascinated by macro photography, Chris immersed himself in capturing the inherent beauty around him, becoming amazed by the often overlooked details in everyday scenes. As he explored the microscopic landscapes around him, he noticed exquisite details that seemed unattainable, limited by the capabilities of his equipment. This realization compelled him to dig deeper, driven by a desire to discover more of these hidden wonders and share them with the world. When traditional photographic equipment failed to capture the intricate detail he sought, Chris returned to his roots in technology and science. Using a system of rails and microscope objectives, he made his way into the little-documented world of extreme macro photography.
