Behind the scene: F1 pilots racing the Lego cars in Miami
The LEGO Group and Formula 1® took over the Miami Grand Prix with 10 fully drivable LEGO® cars with F1 race drivers at the wheel. What was behind these funny races in the Drivers’ Parade?

1. In partnership with Formula 1®and all 10 teams on the grid, the LEGO Group has created fully drivable big build LEGO® cars and put them to the test at the Miami Grand Prix Driver’s Parade.
2. Inspired by the LEGO® F1 Speed Champions range, each of these LEGO big builds comprises of nearly 400,000 bricks, weighing 1500kg and capable of reaching speeds of 20km/h.
3. These were created by a skilled team of 26 designers, engineers and LEGO builders, over 22,000 hours, in the LEGO Group’s Kladno factory, located in the Czech Republic.
4. At a near 1:1 in scale with Formula 1 cars, each big build comprises of nearly 400,000 LEGO bricks, weighing 1.500 kg and capable of reaching speeds of 20 km/h, all while capturing the intricate and unique details of a Formula 1 car, including everything from sponsor logos to authentic Pirelli Tyres.
5. Following the conclusion of the Miami Grand Prix, all 10 LEGO big builds will embark on a global tour, bringing families and kids closer to all the action on track, with appearances at future races and F1® calendar moments.
