How I become a fragrance designer

April 22nd, 2016 / by / in: Dazzling stories / No responses

Every time when I smell a perfume, I try to find out what’s the secret ingredient that makes me sigh. What’s that note that takes me directly to the Dreamland. For sure I thought about creating my own perfume, not just once. How I can be a fragrance designer. And… I think somebody from Molinard read my mind!

That’s because Beautik Haute Parfumerie (www.beautik.ro) and Molinard launched L’Atelier des parfums. And guess what! I had the chance to make my own fragrance. To play with the notes and the essences for hours. To identify the base notes, the top ones and to learn, directly from the experts, which essence is suitable for the base and which one is perfect for the top (I didn’t know, for example, that I could put vanilla only as a base note!)

If you want to create your own perfume, Molinard L’Atelier des parfums will be available at Beautik Haute Parfumerie from September 2016.

Therefore, I had the opportunity to decide what would be the note that will follow me the entire day. It was hard, I tell you, to smell over 30 different essences (so strong that next morning I still have some remains of honey essence smell on my fingers) and to decide which ones represent me the most. I went with some woody notes for the base and dried fruits, and cotton and honey for the heart notes. For the top? Pear and… hey, it’s a secret! Who knows when my perfume becomes famous?

Good to know: if you want to create your own perfume, Molinard L’Atelier des parfums will be available at Beautik Haute Parfumerie from September 2016. And for sure, it is un experiment worths trying! It is more than a workshop with notes, it is more than to decide which flower is your favourite, it is a personal experience of senses. One personal olfactive symphony, at the bottom line.

Molinard is a ancient house of perfumes, based in Grasse, France, from 1849 and is one of the most appreciated fragrance house in the world. The Molinard Museum still keeps the fascinating notes in fabulous Baccarat crystal bottles. (Molinard is available in Beautik Haute Parfumerie, www.beautik.ro)
