The wonder kid of London fashion: Thomas Tait
He was the youngest ever graduate from the London’s Central Saint Martins. And The winner, in 2014, of the inaugural LVMH Prize for designers under 40. Thomas Tait, a Canadian designer based in London is a designer who doesn’t stop amaze us season after season.
About Thomas Tait: The London-based designer first made waves in 2010 when, at 22, he became the youngest student to earn an MA in womenswear from the prestigious Central Saint Martins art and design college. He’s been a major draw at London Fashion Week ever since. His collections are exercises in the look of proportion, cut, form and texture. Since May 2014, the Canadian designer has been funded and mentored by LVMH: the prize also included 12 months of professional mentoring and support from within the luxury conglomerate, and the the selection panel included names like Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs and Phoebe Philo.
About his Autumn/Winter 2015/2016 collection: “Sci-fi spaghetti western”, Tait described of it backstage at London Fashion Week. Therefore, we saw shirts in white with exaggerated collars, some brooches looking like sheriff badges, bulky jackets in great color of combinations of maroon and yellow, wide trousers, zipped jackets and angular-shouldered dresses.
