Hegedűs Tünde – a new voice, designer at Diploma Show 2023

Finding an identity, finding their voices, finding themselves, discovering who they are and showing it to the world – that is the most difficult part of being of designer nowadays. And all of the young artists are trying to show the world their creations. As for me, I think Fashion Design chapter of Diploma Show 2023 is the place to find my future #fashioncrushes. Look closely at the new generation of young Romanian fashion designers and their interesting collections. What is the definition of fashion, from your point of view? What does it mean to you, personally?

For me, fashion is an expressive tool that reflects the relationship between body and soul. We convey thoughts and emotions that we formulate through our experiences and we try to bring them to the public through the clothes we design.

What is the biggest challenge for a young designer nowadays?

Finding an identity. Finding your voice, finding yourself, discovering who you are and showing it to the world. I think it’s very easy to get lost in all the splendour of the world these days, but we need to be brave enough to express ourselves and give a piece of ourselves to each collection.

Tell us why we should look for your pieces at Diploma Show 2023.

Each piece speaks for itself and speaks to us, as their aim is to draw our attention to the fact that it is important to study our past and through it, to know ourselves. My pieces are all inspired by the region where I come from, Korond and its surroundings, the folk costumes, the profession, the traditions, and all of these have led me to find myself.

The perfect fashion item for you is… Why?

It’s a blazer because you can use it in so many contexts, you can combine it with different pieces.

What is next, for you, this year? Collections, personal projects, exhibitions etc.

I want to continue to develop my skills, so I will definitely work within the industry, on more of my own collections and also boldly work on my own brand, which represents a sophisticated, refined line.
