Back to school: a collection by Sadie Williams

Fashion month is over. All we have left are the collections. And, for instance, a cool one: Sadie Williams spring/summer 2016 collection, entitled “Barnes B” took me to the easy-peasy school days (and disco evenings). And to the fashion associated with that. To complete the whole picture, she integrated all her outfits from the spring/summer 2016 collection (presented at London Fashion Week) in an interesting installation with polaroids, tacked up around a recreation of her own teenage bunk bed.
Sadie Williams likes to layer fabrics therefore, in her collection, presented in the look book images by the Elizabeth Yeoman (a thin teenager with long hair and braces), she used delicate layering of sparkly fabric alongside luxe white sheer organza silk and bright metallic leathers and embroidery for ornate skirts and tops’ edges. “I used shapes that me and friends would wear to discos, like mini-skirts and backless tops, combined with sweatshirts and trainers with lurex laces”, she said in an interview.

The designer Sadie Williams graduated Central Saint Martins in 2013 and she worked alongside JW Anderson and Marc Jacobs. Last season, Sadie Williams presented her autumn/winter 2015 debut collection “Ikebana” at London Fashion Week, and this year she was chosen by British Fashion Council to be one of the talented few eligible for NEWGEN sponsorship for London Fashion Week.
